
Jane Miller is an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Learning Health Sciences, Division of Professional Education. She teaches Medicine in Mandarin to medical students who have established a commitment to working with Mandarin-speaking patients in their career. She works at Michigan Medicine as healthcare interpreter and interpreter trainer. Jane earned her BA from National Taiwan Normal University, and received her Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) from University of Michigan. In 1989, Taipei’s City Education Bureau selected her to study in a teacher training program at California State University, Fresno. She then spent three years as principal of the Fresno Chinese School. Jane served as International Medical Interpreter Association State Chapter Chair for Michigan from 2012-2014. She is an active sub-committee member at National Council on Interpreting in Healthcare Home for Trainers Webinars Workgroup.
